Assessments

The perceived quality and utility of a training program will always be eroded if it relies upon a poorly drafted assessment tool. Most of us have already bumped into one of these in our working lives. It contained a series of nebulous and loosely worded questions along such lines as:

  1. Why is the topic we studied today important?
  2. What things have you learned from today's lesson?
  3. And so on...

Poorly drafted assessments quickly alienate trainees. They foster concern over issues of objectivity, fairness, and relevance to key learning objectives. Vague and open ended assessment questions also make the job of the assessor more difficult. How may he or she formulate a model answer to a question that invites an infinite number of different responses?

Poor quality assessments continue to show up in most industry sectors because it is hard work to draft tight, relevant, and defensible questions. Writing good assessment questions also requires talent, experience, and the capacity to properly understand the subject matter at hand.

We can assist you to put together both theoretical and practical assessment tools that will accurately record the competency of your trainees. We can build these documents from scratch, or if you have your own assessment templates already in place, provide you with multiple choice, missing word, or other question formats that are carefully drafted to retrieve quantifiable trainee responses.
